Cellardoor Winery – Lincolnville – 1 hour drive north. Reservations required on Open Table Lovely winery, local girl, started, beautiful venue. Well worth the drive and time. Stop over in Camden on the way back and walk through the town and see the harbor. The winery website is https://mainewine.com

Damariscotta River Cruise – In Damariscotta – 20 mins from Boothbay. Beautiful little town on Saturday’s and Wednesday’s they do an oyster and wine cruise. They pair 8 oysters from farms along the river with wines and it is about a two-hour cruise. It’s called the oyster and wine cruise on their site. So much fun. Learn all about the oyster business in Maine. Hurry, this sells out fast. https://damariscottarivercruises.com

The Bristol, Walpole and Pemiquid Peninsula – Drive down to the – Contented Sole – awesome restaurant about a 45 min drive from Boothbay. https://www.thecontentedsole.com

Make a reservation for lunch or dinner. Work your way back up the peninsula and stop over at the Walpole Barn https://walpolebarn.com – get some oysters or wine and cheese and sit in their gardens and enjoy the home store. Finish it off with a trip to the Broad Arrow Farm. https://www.broadarrowfarm.com This farm raises and produces its own meats. They have a new bar and charcuterie shack. More of a real working farm in Maine that raises meat sustainably.

The Boothbay Opera House https://boothbayoperahouse.com
Tickets online and many performances throughout the summer. A very cool old house and
unique venue for local music. Some national performers mixed in. A fun night for sure.

Monhegian Island – a day trip, but so worth it. An artist colony. An island about one hour off the cost of Boothbay Harbor – get there by taking the Balmy Days ferry in town. It leaves at 9 am and returns by 4:15 pm. There is a brewery – Monhegian Brewing Company. They only sell their beer on the island it is not exported anywhere – very unique, And… there are many local artist galleries with some awesome work. Our favorite artist is on display at the Island Inn on the Island. Even if you don’t stay there, go see the art collection. Amazing hiking on the east side of the island — very aggressive in some instances if you are a hiker. Overall, a remote Maine island that is so cool. Make sure you stop for lunch at the Fish House on the island. Fish tacos are delish. https://balmydayscruises.com you will need to book your trip to the island from them for the ferry.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardenshttps://www.mainegardens.org

One of the most unique gardens you have ever seen in your life. The gardens are a work of art. Go for an afternoon. If they still have the Trolls exhibit it is quite fun to walk the hundreds of acres in search of the trolls.

Thursday Mornings – Open Air Fresh Farmer’s Market in the Commons on Boothbay-The big grassy area when you enter town. All kinds of things and fresh veggies and meats for you to cook if you want to while you are here.

A link to the Chamber of Commerce site – they also have things listed going on in town. https://www.boothbayharbor.com
